About Us
Shotgun Kennel is a small family run kennel, owned by Tim & Debby Lintz located in Grand Blanc, Michigan. We are dedicated to the belief that our dogs should be valued members of the family as well as outstanding gun dogs. I got my start training dogs as a police K-9 handler in the mid 1970s. I have since turned my love of dogs and upland hunting into training and breeding fine gun dogs for the family. Debby shares her love of hunting and dogs with me.
Shotgun Kennel dogs are versatile in every sense of the word. They are as at home in the grouse coverts of northern Michigan as well as working wild pheasants. They will lounge at home or readily take to the water to find downed waterfowl in the marsh.
We hunt test our dogs in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) hunt test and Versatile Hunting dog Federation (VHDF) programs. These are arguably the best and most thorough test of a versatile dog’s ability. We only breed dogs that are proven in these programs and have the temperament to make great family dogs.
Well bred German Shorthaired Pointers are very athletic and have a great deal of energy. They require daily exercise and need to be mentally challenged. Our dogs have proven to be very biddable and have taken well to training. They love to please and are wonderful around our five grandchildren. We would expect to place our pups in hunting homes where they will be a part of the family’s daily life.
